Characterization
Prior to the sudden death of Rory Cochrane's character and departure from CSI: Miami at the beginning of season 3, "Velocity" was distinguished in occasional carelessness in the procedure. Especially the feature is his omission from the proper gun care "Dispo Day", which is a contributing factor to Speed's own death.
He too, at one point, borrows Calleigh Duquesne's criminal light and forgets to recharge, much to his annoyance. The arrogant attitude of Speed âââ ⬠<â ⬠Flaunt in the series is his role as a friend to Eric Delko Adam Rodriguez. This side of him is seen in episode 604, "Bang, Bang, Your Debt," three full years after Speedle's death "Lost Son". Delko, still feeling the effects of his head injury (season 5 episode 15 "Man Down"), suffered a clear hallucination from his deceased friend, leading eventually to the discovery that the Audio-Visual Technician Lab Dan Cooper had stolen Speedle's credit card. This episode, especially with the appearance of Speedle in it, illustrates the ongoing trauma of the death of a friend's violence (in this case, Speed) on those close to the individual. When Cooper claimed that, because Speed ââwas dead, no one was hurt, Calleigh Duquesne angrily pointed out that Eric was injured, and so did he, in particular, by the false hope of allegations of the card (plus Delko's hallucination) and Cooper is given an ultimatum to surrender or Calleigh will press his own expenses. Then, "Amburadul", it was revealed that he did not file charges. Maps Tim Speedle
Character biography
Speedle Team is a Trace and Impressions expert with Miami-Dade Crime Lab from Jamaica, Queens. At the opening of season 8, it was revealed that he had been recommended for Horatio by Jesse Cardoza who had been transferred to the LAPD at the time and recently returned, Speedle worked at St. Petersburg PD at that time.
Death
Speed ââdies in the opening episode of Season 3, "Lost Son", after being badly wounded during a shootout at a jewelry store. She and Caine were getting ready for a fight, but the Speedle shell casings allowed one of the thieves to shoot him in the chest. Caine calls for an ambulance, but Speedle gives in to his injuries before help arrives, dead in Caine's arms. Speedle's death made the team, especially Caine and Delko, crushed. Internal affairs were forced to investigate and Calleigh's report that the rifle only works so well that it closes the IAB investigation. A funeral was held and his parents and his team were seen grieving over his loss.
Speedle's position on the team was later taken by Ryan Wolfe, a former patrol officer for the Miami-Dade Police Department.
Legacy
During the first season episode, Speed ââand Delko, during clubbing nights in the city, are caught in a devastating and deadly fire when nightclub guards set the building down in a twisted attempt to become a hero. Speedle helped save lives when he saw an emergency exit, and he guided many victims to safety. Despite the trauma of the blaze, he insisted on working on the scene with his other team members (season one, episode 22, "Tinder Box").
A few months after his death, Sara Piper a.k.a. Cookie Devine, (season 3, episode 18, "Game Over") is afraid of the sex tape he made with his girlfriend will leak. He goes to the lab and asks Team Speedle, who previously helped him (season 2, episode 24, "Innocent") and Horatio overheard it. He stepped inside and informed Speed ââthat he had been killed while on duty but promised to investigate his case.
Five years after Speedle's death, his memory is still soft in the hearts and minds of his comrades. They left the locker and the effect intact, attracting people who came after his death (episode 6x04, "Bang, Bang, Your Debt").
