Georgetown is a town in Clay County, Minnesota, United States, along the Buffalo River near its encounter with the Red River in the North. The population is 129 in the 2010 census.

History
Georgetown was founded in 1859 as a trading post for Hudson's Bay Company. The post office called Georgetown has been in operation since 1864.

At the 2010 census, there were 129 people, 48 households, and 33 families living in the city. Population density was 129.0 inhabitants per square mile (49.8/km 2 ). There are 55 housing units with an average density of 55.0 per square mile (21.2/km 2 ). Racial makeup of the city is 95.3% White, 2.3% Native Americans, 1.6% of other races, and 0.8% of two or more races. Hispanic or Latin of any race 3.9% of the population.
There are 48 households that 37.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.4% are married couples living together, 8.3% have a housewife with no wife present, and 31, 3% is not a family. 25.0% of all households are individuals and 10.5% have a single person who is 65 or older. The average household size is 2.69 and the average family size is 3.27.
The average age in the city is 37.6 years. 31.8% of the population is under 18 years of age; 4.6% between the ages of 18 and 24; 29.6% are from 25 to 44; 27.9% are from 45 to 64; and 6.2% are 65 years or older. The city's gender structure is 54.3% male and 45.7% female.

The average household size was 2.50 and the average family size was 2.82.
