Agency debt also known as Agency bond is securities, usually bonds, issued by government-sponsored agencies or US federal budget bureaus. Offering from these institutions is supported but not guaranteed by the US government. Some of the leading securities issuers are the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae) and Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac). Debt agents are also referred to as security agents.
